Physical Restoration for Aging Pets & Pets with Degenerative Diseases

All bodies are subject to changes as they age.

Therapy can improve problems such as:
* Hip, back and other joint arthritis
* Degenerative myelopathy
* Changes from inactivity including weight gain, loss of strength or flexibility

To develop a treatment plan, we get a complete history from you and your veterinarian, discuss your expectations and evaluate the patient’s home challenges. We then assess your pet’s current abilities with their motion, strength, balance and flexibility.
Our plan may include many different therapies and also give you activities for home care so that you can help them make daily improvements.
Frequently for chronic conditions, the improvements are dramatic but are often in small increments.

Physical Rehabilitation of Injuries or Post-Operative Care

Especially when having fun, but even with simple household activities, pets can incur serious injuries.

Our services can speed recovery from difficulties like:
* Joint surgical repairs especially those of the hip, knee, shoulder and elbow
* Sprains or strains that require more than a couple days of rest
* Trauma to the patient from falls or impact

If your pet requires surgery or has a serious injury that can be overcome without surgery, we can provide your pet excellent and comfortable care to maximize their recovery. We will work with your veterinarian to detail your pet’s injuries and with you to get your pet’s pre-injury activities. After assessing the patient’s current challenges and surrounding obstacles we develop a plan that will include various manual therapies and treatment modalities as well as exercises that you can do with your pet to aid their daily progress.
The speed of recovery varies significantly, depending on the specific injury and each patient’s overall health.
All our techniques are all gentle and effective. We do our best to make them fun for you and your pet.

Programs for Athletic Improvement & Growth Imbalances

As our pets grow, providing them safe exercises can prevent future injuries.

Examples where our assistance can be crucial are:
* Hip or shoulder dysplasia
* Patellar luxation
* Young dogs who want to train for competition without injury

With some frequency the young animals that we have either purchased or adopted will have either genetic predispositions or will have been exposed to one of many types of growth stresses that can create an inappropriate growth pattern. While we cannot overcome all problems, we can rebalance the body for most. We will consult your veterinarian for the history and with our progress as we work through the program we design for your pet.

If you simply have the desire to maximize your pet’s performance, we can create exercise programs that can help you prevent injuries while raising a superb athlete.
